The short answer
Yes, many people feel distance Reiki as clearly as an in-person session. Reiki works with your energy field, not your physical body, so distance doesn't block it. Most people feel deep relaxation, warmth or tingling, and lightness afterwards. It's a holistic practice that complements, never replaces, medical care.
How Reiki works from a distance
Reiki is a Japanese practice of channeling universal life energy. In person, the practitioner places their hands on or near your body. At a distance, the practitioner connects with your energy through intention while you rest at home. In my sessions we connect on Zoom first, so you know exactly when the work begins.
What you may feel
- Warmth or tingling in your hands, chest or head.
- Waves of deep relaxation, sometimes close to sleep.
- Emotions coming up, tears or memories.
- Lightness and clarity once the session ends.
Some people feel very little during the session and notice the change the next day. Both are normal.
How to prepare
- Find a quiet, private space where you can lie down.
- Wear comfortable clothes and have water nearby.
- Think about what you'd like to work on.
- Avoid cold water for a few hours afterwards and rest.
